Only a
few electronic products generated as much fanfare as Apple’s iPhone.
When Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone seven years ago it received
front-page treatment in national dailies, in widely circulated magazines
and given top billing on major TV networks all over the world. People
line up outside Apple stores 24 hours before the release date. It is
easy to understand why it generated that kind of buzz, the iPhone
changed the way people perceive mobile phones.
Before
the advent of the iPhone consumers were forced to be contented with
bland designs that were a little upgrade from mobile radios. But when
iPhone entered the mobile phone market consumers were treated to a
smartphone that is not only loaded with features, it also looks great,
and to top it all a user friendly device.
However,
the design team from Apple seemed to have rested on their laurels
considering that not much has changed for the company’s flagship mobile
phone. In the last two years Apple struggled to compete with Samsung’s
Galaxy line and in 2014 Samsung sold more cellphones that any other cell
phone manufacturer on the planet. Apple had to do something or suffer
the same fate as Nokia.
Rumoured iPhone6
It
is being rumored that Apple is going to respond to critics wit the
unveiling of the new iPhone. The new mobile phone will be named the
iPhone 6 and will definitely replace the iPhone 5s. Tech-savvy consumers
cannot wait to get hold of the iPhone 6 because they believe that Apple
had to make adjustments aesthetically in order to offer something that
can compete with successful smartphones like Sony Xperia that comes with
larger displays. Thus, iPhone 6 is rumored to have a display size
upgrade and will come in two sizes, the smaller version has a 4.7-inch
display while the larger version will have a 5.5-inch display.
Although
the larger screen display can help increase sales for the iPhone it is
the speculation that Apple will use sapphire glass that has set the
Internet on fire. People are talking about this feature because sapphire
glass is the same material used by high-end watchmakers to create a
crystal display that is unbreakable and scratchproof. Now, imagine the
same sapphire crystal that is fashioned into a 5-inch screen display and
you will understand why iPhone fans are already drooling over it.
If
the sapphire crystal is not enough to generate excitement, another
stellar feature is the use of in-cell touch panel technology that will
enable iPhone makers to construct mobile phones that are thinner than
standard models.
In order to stay relevant in
the current market that demands powerful operating system, the iPhone 6
is said to run on a new operating system called iOS 8. Even before the
scheduled release this coming September consumers are already discussing
some of the apps that will be loaded into the new iPhone. One of the
most interesting is the HealthKit that will enable the user to monitor
blood pressure and heart rate. If you want to learn more about iPhone 6,
